Dudeneys 31

This is a paper and pencil counting game for 2 players.

They first draw up a table with 4 rows of digits 1 to 6.( 24 digits).

Playing, In turn they select a digit and record the cumulative total.The digit is crossed out of the table and it’s the next players turn to select that cumulative total, select a digit from the table, add his selected digit recordto get the new cumulative total and cross his selected digit from the table. 

The purpose it to get the cumulative total to EXACTLY 31.

Going over is  loses. You may find that the digit you want from 1 to 6 was in the table but it is now crossed out

Beyond doubt there are strategic positions (10,17,24 ).
