5 field Kono

Five field kono

This 2 player game is of recent Korean origin and is played of a 5 x 5 grid  with each playerhaving 7 pieces on the board at the start. The aim is to occupy all the positions of the 7 pieces of the other player.Whoever does it first is the winner. The rules are extremely simple…move diagonally only one cell at a timeforward or backward. No jump overs or capture.

 

The game is very suitable for playing with paper and pencil and cardboard pieces in 2 colours.
